Every major OS maker misread Intel's docs. Now their kernels can be hijacked or crashed

The problem is they ditched security in exchange for performance in the very wrong times.

While multiple cores, GPUs, and other hardware improvements helped a lot to increase performance even without reducing cycles or increasing clock, software security became much more important as soon systems became highly interconnected and attacks more and more sophisticated.

Without adding security features to CPU, and made software layers more separated and resilient using them, it will be impossible to have far more secure OSes. One bug, and you're executing in kernel. at ring 0.. BOOOM!
