The ME and PSP were introduced (and the machine locked out of owner control) specifically so that this kind of attack would be thwarted. Now we're in the insane position of still having to worry about this kind of attack (which the ME and PSP flaws have made reachable by nearly any motivated hacker) AND we're locked out of our own hardware "for safety reasons".
Basically, the only justifiable reason for these black boxes to be present has failed, and the vendors are still insisting on keeping the machine owners from having full control. How is this situation even remotely acceptable?
