AI, Ai ai, I dislike the term Artificial Intelligence, as much as Emotional intelligence, as focusing upon emotions or intelligence is just an objectification of some part of the system. if that system were to be intelligent it would not be artificial. We could refer to it as non-human intelligence, but most AI is ML as stated above, Machine Learning and also DDD 'Data Directed Decisioning'. The (horrible) example of DDD is seen recently in Australia with the New South Wales government creating new transport timetables from Opal ticketing data, it failed to take into account the systems own functions and time buffers as well as the users purposes and needs, this in System analysis terms was like forgetting to interview the staff of a multi-dimensional enterprise when constricting a new and better system, basing it only on their perceived movements around the water cooler. You are only as good as the data you use.
Having an open Machine Learning system may be useful but soon we will have Machines writing our learning systems provided we give them enough diverse data to understand our requirements.
