Yes, far better that we make up a piece of fiction right before we start, plan everything in microscopic detail as to the precise way things are going to occur for the next 2 years... Then just deny observable reality, blame and scapegoat the poor souls tasked with achieving the impossible, and watch as the 'final deadlines' keep flying by like miles on the odometer of a speeding car, as the Bugs in the Bug Backlog start to number in the thousands, as the customers grow more and more disgruntled, and the £ notes burn right before your eyes...
Way better? Or maybe not?...
