You can still access youtube, just not through an app.
The people who purchased a firestick or similar *just* to view youtube must be a very small number. The average household with two adults and a couple of kids will probably have somewhere in the 5-10 region of other devices that can view YouTube in the house (including the firstick that will just dump them on youtube.com).
