The i.mx6 can now run Android with no binary blobs.

Intel's drivers are opensource and they are the OEM.

Many of the parts people use for IoT don't have decent datasheets and the existing driver in the SDK is the only reference. One part I have worked with had massive useful features totally undocumented in the datasheet yet had code to support them in the SDK.
