As a (up-to-now) satisfied owner of a R7000 i am very disappointed to see Netgear pull this stunt - i will not buy again from them if true.
I must admit however, my UK box, running the current V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 firmware does not mention the data collection nor have the toggles to turn it off or on.
Either the function is there and hidden so i can;t turn it off, or coming in a future firmware update.
I'll keep and eye out.
