If it was a traditional algorithm (like a flowchart or decision-tree) it would be fine.
If it's some newfangled AI "machine learning" algorithm, where you just blast a load of data into a neural net and somehow "train" it to do the right thing, that's a lot harder to scrutinise for anyone - IT professionals included.
