I've tried but cannot remember the name of the system which, modelling a naval fleet, decided a good tactic was to sink any of its own ships which couldn't keep up ... if anyone can remember the name of the AI system, I'd be very grateful ...
Not a particularly non-human approach, as also described in HMS Ulysses - which was based very much IRL .....
