My router is connected to the internet and should be IPv6.
My internal network, which is currently only differenciated by IPv4 address class, and is on the internet while technically not having an internet IP, could run on IPv4. It's a far more efficient use of IP addresses.
I don't understand how you misunderstood that? It's not an isolated case, everyone has that experience, unless you plug your computer directly into the internet without using a router or modem?
And yes, one day we will run out of IPv6 addresses. It won't be in our lifetimes, but it will happen. Then my idea will make even more sense, except IPv4 won't exist anymore.
