It's just the (unintentional, I'm sure) combination of the two that is rather... unfortunate.
Quite. I have Variety installed on most of my machines (changes backgrounds/wallpapers plus chucks a random quote on it). Sometimes the combinations of picture (selected only from my photo collection, but you can use all sorts of online sources for them) and quote can be quite interesting, eg one with an old co-worker in the picture and a quote from some of Dubya's finer moments - quite fitting given the person pictured. Sometimes they can be painful, eg one along the lines of "I will always love you" and the picture of a recently lost very close friend.
But it's purely random. At least, I hope it is :)
