Haven't had that experience with Mint. Yesterday however I watched a Windows installation take 5 minutes to "install" a mouse driver for a simple 3-button USB mouse, then ask me to reboot to complete the installation.
But.. but.. But drivers are so much better in Windows! And it's more productive! And so much better! And.. and.. and it's windows and made by professionals not by freetards! And it's just better coz it has to reboot to install a basic mouse! And the virus in the driver.PDF.exe from the fake site Bing sent you to when trying to find a driver means Windows is more secure! And and and..
