Well, it did not belong to China in the past. Now they've built & fortified islands there and their navy is sailing around there, and they claim to own it. What's the rest of the world going to do about it? Looks like the rest of the world is going to talk and do nothing substantive, while China takes it over. So for all practical purposes, China will own it in future.
