Just curious, what part of my reasoning did you disagree with?
I really do think the ire at Evans allowed the rest of the team to grow without too much focus on them, and they'll be a good team going forward. I enjoyed LeBlanc, Reid and Harris and think they'll make a good show, they have real potential to develop a level of chemistry the old team had. (See the very last episode of TG:Extra as an example).
I don't think they would have managed to do this had the focus been solely on them, I think the show would have been derided for not being 'old TG' and before they would have had a chance to find their feet it would have been interfered with, probably perpetually, until it was taken out back and shot.
Just to be clear, I find Evans consistently annoying, although now Moyles is back on the radio I don't listen to him much any more.
