Question
I learned a lot from this article.
As an attentive student I have a question though. Why would one send a message twice (second time in hashed form)? If A would encode his message first with his own private key and then with B's public key, would that not do it? In order to decode, B would first use his own private key, which means that nobody but B can read the message. Secondly B would decode with A's public key, so that B knows for certain that A is the sender.
So, it seems to me that sending a single message, twice encrypted, would be safe. Or do I overlook something here?
