My issue is not with searching their phone, which by any standard is reasonable and they do have a court order so they have followed the proper procedure.

I was more interested in Apple's role in this since they are an independent party. An independent party being compelled to assist in an investigation is an interesting development in my view.

If I'm walking by a police station and the cops need some guys for a line up, as a private citizen can they compel me to assist them? They wouldn't have a court order but I'm sure that you understand where my thoughts are going.
