I've only ever had one Windows laptop fail. It was a Samsung with a touchscreen, which developed a dead line on the screen.
Not a crushing, world-ending failure but irritating enough to make me buy a Thinkpad after a while.
Which, incidentally, is the 2013 X1 Carbon and it's going fine.
