In the post-Snowden world, where everyone from the NSA, GCHQ to your ISP is inspecting and sometimes altering content, HTTPS (which makes such things nearly impossible) makes sense.

In some cases. Not in all of them. Typical security amateurs - and that includes Gilbertson - failing to understand threat models and insisting that everyone agree with theirs.

Damn, but I'm weary of the HTTPS zealots.
