Why the emphasis on Scarborough? There's been a base here for decades, preceeding the creation of GCHQ. And it's a much nicer place to live than Cheltenham!
(yes, I do live here, and know plenty of people that have worked at CSOS Irton Moor (Completely secret outside Scarborough was the alternative acronym)
