Food banks are a political construct created to apply pressure, and that is all they are. My local one has literally nobody arriving on foot, with most customers decamping from newer cars than I own!
The children of the current generation will be the first to see a real impact of this - the majority will no longer be able to afford to buy themselves a home for example, despite working just as hard and in similar roles to their parents generation
Simply untrue. There are thousands of homes for sale at prices which can be bought using mortgageable multiples of the minimum wage, even in London. The current generation of kids might not be able to afford to buy the same kind of house their parents own, but that isn't new - it was the same for Gen X and Gen Y.
