my 2 cents
In many ways systemd is only a symptom that finally showed clearly how Linux is not Unix and now is not even pretending to be anymore. With systemd basically becoming the svchost of Linux, Linux is actually trying to pretend to be windows now. Good for RedHat's bottom line what with more FOSS to become Linux only but just makes one grateful that *BSD is still around even if less and less software will port to it over time.
