Always makes me smile how almost everyone believes there were 3; I'm no theologian, but I believe the pertinent passage reads summat like this:
"And then came there men from the East, bearing with them gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for to honour the new born…"
NOWHERE does it explicitly state the number of wise men; 'men' obviously implies more than one, but there could have been 2 - there could have been 2,000 - nowhere is the exact number mentioned.
Number of gifts DOES NOT necessarily equal number of givers, and vice versa.
Wish Apple would add an advanced symbols keypad - the number of times I've wanted a 'not equal to' sign…
