That's a bit subjective. What rig(s) were you running?
For my part I moved about 32k messages (coming to about 2.4GB) off a Core2 Quad desktop (localhost) to a Raspberry Pi (so only 10/100 link speed), IMAP-to-IMAP, using Thunderbird. Took about 4 hours all up.
Of course that's SOHO level stuff, the OP is probably better off paying somebody to take the risk/liability at their scale, as has been said.
