A free trip to the USA.

Just imagine doing something illegal to become a legal illegal alien. Where's a better place to go to prison? Plenty of time to work on getting a green card.

    How much shilly-shallying was there

between the US and Belarussian authorities before the latter let this guy be taken Stateside? Not a lot by the sound of it. If only the British authorities were as swift with Gary McK over something potentially more dangerous.

    WTF?

I always wonder in cases such as these ...

how many banks made accusatory suggestions against customers complaining about unauthorised withdrawals?

Bank employees refuse to accept bank security is weak!

    It's not really explained here

what the dickens does this case have to do with the US?

    WTF?

    Why?

Why extradited to the US? The crime was committed in Belarus. I bet it wasn't only US citizens who were defrauded. So Dimitry going to be extradited from the US to other countrys to face trial there. What is so special about the US? Don't answer it, it's obvious, the US is the world's policeman. I know you can joke, but the US seems to think so - and that's the frightening bit.

What did he consent to? (The article only carries an implication).

    And why?

    Was he tortured?

    Stop whining

Gawd's sake, stop whining about the US actually doing something to combat these scumbags.

Had the UK authorities been involved, the guy would've been brought to this country and on the Home Office's recommendation given a job with Phorm or a management position at British Telecom.

The extradition came after Naskovets consented.

    Yeah right!

@VulcanV5: Try to get a merkin extradited to your country after they have done something similar, and you'll se why people are pissed off: we are all equal, but merkins more so.
