He's not a reporter
Even Glenn Beck himself denies being a reporter, and he isn't even on Fox News at the times when it is providing news (all other times it is opinion, as Fox themselves have pointed out).
He is a complete idiot, as this case proves, since I wouldn't have heard anyhting about it if he hadn't blown it all out of proportion.

Can anyone claim trademark rights on their own name? How are they enforced? Should new parents be checking with WIPO to ensure their offspring has a unique name? Do you have to change your name if you infringe someone else's trademark?

Let's get this clear ...
Did Glenn Beck rape then murder a young girl in 1990? Or did he murder then rape her? I've heard both accusations. Which was it? Or did he actually murder two young girls in 1990, murdering then raping one, and raping then murdering the other. I think it fair that the facts be put on the table. I do wonder why Fox News continue to employ an alleged serial rapist and murderer. What else might they be hiding?

I think that arrest record is fake!
That arrest record is in monospaced courier, but they had proportional typefaces in 1990, so that Glenn Beck rape arrest is likely fake. Or maybe it was planted by Glenn Beck supporters to lead others down a blind trail. I don't know the answer, I'm just asking.

need to defend your character
I don't care who it is, but if someone smears your character with no proof you have to defend yourself. I know, many say just do nothing and everyone knows its bogus anyways so why bother.
But if someone or group just made up a story with zero fact checking, I would be out there telling the world!! Also, to me, if you don't defend yourself maybe people think it is true so you got to defend yourself with allegations that are NOT true.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of bogus claims from ideologs. I think it is easier to smear someones name rather than defend your beliefs and it seems hard for these ideologs to respect others who have a different opinion.

A lot of the reactions I see on news sites are in this style: "This is a smear campaign posing as political satire."
Which, interestingly, sounds like a Glenn Beck tactic.
Maybe it is more correctly described as a "meta-smear campaign posing as political satire of a smear campaign posing as political satire"? Or something like that.

Unfortunately for those who feel that Glen Beck received true justice, the irony of this charade is that most Americans who listen to and accept everything out of Glen Beck's mouth as "truth" and "reasonable" will only conclude that the WIPO, Democrats, all other nations and peoples - including Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and "non-fundamental Christians" are conspiring to denigrate their beloved hero.
It has never been a question of whether Glen Beck - as well as Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are idiots, these guys have proven it conclusively by all scientific and "rational" criteria. The fact that such insanity and stupidity from them continues to attain loyal followings is the sad and pathetic part.
But, that is America, where "everyone" has these wonderful freedoms - to say and do anything, no matter how asinine, and become rich and famous for it.

The beauty of that site was that it indeed worded the accusation in a manner that Glenn Beck often uses during what most would call his less lucid moments.
"I have no evidence of this but.." precedes much of what he says, which is usually followed by some utterly insane statement during which he will be balling his eyes out and weepily claiming he loves his country.
His most notorious opinion was that FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency that is sent to disaster zones to give emergency relief, has changed its purpose to something significantly more sinister on the order of Democrats and President Obama. Instead of, say, giving emergency aid to hurricane and flood victims, it now runs concentration camps for right wing Americans. This is a delightful twist on the fact they provided mobile homes to the displaced victims of hurricane Katrina. Obviously providing shelter was a cover for creating concentration camps to house right wing protesters - and thanks to Glenn Beck our saviour, we can now all see the plan for what it is, an evil plot of the new devil worshiping, Muslim President.
Fox "News" itself is nothing more than the right wing propaganda engine of the Republican Party. During the Bush administration they were famous for reporting White House statements as news, ie. the White House would issue a press release and Fox News would report the contents of the release as news, without reference to its origins.
The channel is now in a frenzy of right wing propaganda directed at the Democrats, in particular President Obama, and are responsible for these so-called Tea Bagging protests. Amid denials of collusion, they will end a news segment giving the time, date and location of these protests and mysteriously be able to report live from all of them despite the so-called spontaneity of the event, often inflating the number of protesters present by 10s of thousands.
Naturally we are all having a lot of fun with this, I myself have nearly been fired after falling about laughing during a meeting when my female boss said she wanted to go tea bagging.
Of course those of us enjoying such moments do see the irony given the right's hatred of all things gay. Naturally Glenn Beck is a proud Tea Bagger himself, which is just too good to be true.

I am going to have to watch the show
The only time I have listened to Glenn Beck is if he happens to be on the TV at the bar I am in. I have always found his manner of speaking to be rather annoying ( although not as bad as Rachel Maddow). Now after all of these comments I am going to have actually listen for a change and see why most of the posters are so upset.

I really wish people who consider the Nazi's right wing would take the time to learn some history. Germany and WWII was a big hobby of mine in high school. The NAZI's were very much a case of so far right they were leftist. They were very much like Stalin and the communists just calling it a different name.

But can he prove that he did not commit this crime? This question has never been definitely answered. Just like the made up doubt over Obama's birth certificate. We are still waiting for proof. Remember, the true arch conservative does not believe in "Innocent Until Proven Guilty". With this crowd guilt is determined by the relative social rank of the accuser.
