    You sure that version number is correct? Mine's at 2.0.172.8 already. Maybe I've missed the point.

    Not completely silent. This morning the 'Google Chrome is not your default browser..." prompt popped up, which somehow slipped into the security update...

    Version 2.xx is the beta, version 1.xx is the current "stable" release (yeah, amazing, something from Google that ISN'T a beta!)

    Clarification on Chrome versions

    There are two releases of Chrome, a stable version and a developer version. If it's version 2.x then it's currently the developer version.
