back to article Microsoft up in Arms over data-loss protection in Windows 11

Microsoft is bringing its Windows data-protection security tools to the Arm architecture. For the latest Windows 11 build for developers in the Canary channel, Redmond extended its Endpoint Data Loss Protection (DLP) policies to its OS running on Arm-powered device. The DLP support in Build 25375 lets users "detect and …

Oh well, it will be interesting. The shiny new thing in IT is AI at the moment.

But AI is being used to deliver spam and malware now.

        AI vs AI

And also to block it. So spam generating AI's will have to focus on fooling spam blocking AI's rather than fooling the meatware. As if spam subjects lines were not already weird enough, viewing the spam folder could get entertaining - if the shear volume of spam wasn't so damn annoying.

I just reviewed my spam folder in Outlook and Microsoft said "Threats detected and being eliminated"

Basically they've seen people like ThreatSpike Wire building up a lucrative business, and they feel this must be stopped at all costs.

lt is unfortunately yet another example of very widespread corporate BS that could now have come from any large company these days.

I suspect in this case there would be more managers in the room than actual users.

Interesting that there is no mention of the dark horse of RISC-V on the horizon with its effectively open source designs and mature instruction set.

All that is lacking is fine tuning of the blueprints, and there are already experienced chip designers in the US and elsewhere working on much, much faster implementations than current generations provide with proper pipelining and other acceleration techniques learned from their previous work on x86, Arm, and other instruction set implementation work.

I look forward to RISC-V having taken a significant share, maybe 5% of the market, in 5-10 years, tops.
