    Good luck, China

The Americans don't like it up 'em. America's economic war against China deserves to fail miserably.

    Pot meet Kettle

I guess the folks on the USA side acting all upset seem to forget they have been doing the exact same thing for almost 6 years.

I guess it's only wrong when someone else does to the USA what it does to everybody else...

"She reiterated the US position that there is a lack of evidence for Beijing's moves against Micron for national security reasons, telling reporters: "We see it as plain and simple economic coercion and we won't tolerate it, nor do we think it will be successful".

For sheer fucking hypocrisy, the U.S.A. are definitely the world leaders.

To be fair I do remember a news article saying that AI had detected changes to chip layouts etc over the course of a certain period of time, but there was no pointing of fingers (at least in the Western media) of who was responsible for this - so I'm guessing a company friendly to the West was responsible.

China may have further investigated this and found the culprit? Or it could just be a tit for tat

    "Economic coercion"

Words dripping from the maw of the Commerce Secretary without a hint of irony, embarrassment or self-awareness.

Have You No Sense Of Decency, Sir ?

The irony won't be lost on Reg readers in terms of the US complaining about coercion after the sustained pressure Washington has used against many of its partners and allies, Britain included, to stop using technology from Chinese companies such as Huawei in their network infrastructure.

Sometimes the irony in America goes in through the out door and out the other side.

Is this part if the CHIPS act? Is the USA trying to onshore the production of irony rather than rely on imports from a single small island off the coast of Europe
