Oh goody... perhaps that will mean our IT purchasing people will go back to offering a range of Lenovo desktops/laptops rather than trying to get everyone to migrate to a tiny Surface 4 laptop that comes with just 1x USB and 1x USB-C ports!

30 years ??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ... they really are smoking something.

Claiming some lineage from the Server 95 that was a follow on from the old PS/2 Model 95? Some of us worked on those back in IBM. ThinkSystem was only announced in 2017. It's actually been 5 years not 30 and of course there is not a single thing in common between those products as you would rightly expect given the 25 years between them.

Thought the same. We had lots of IBM 8595 and 9595, amongst other PS/2 systems, back in the day, and there is pretty much nothing of what made these machines great and unique that can be found in any Lenovo product.

But then, it was a different IBM back then than it is today, and Lenovo is nothing like either of them.

I'd settle for a thinkpad that had a good ryzen chip that wasn't throttled, has a poor heat distribution system, artifically cripped in some other way (lower spec RAM, screen etc) everything wasn't soldered.
