Why?

Considering China's involvement with this war, that was clear from the start especially highlighted with The Great Translation, yet Microsoft shouted how great it was that they'd open another Azure region in China. So why they got this award is anyone's guess.

What involvement is that, beyond not public denouncing the Russians?

Even the US intelligence agencies haven't seen evidence of China openly supporting and helping the Russians. Doesn't mean they're not helping behind the scenes, but there's no evidence of that yet. If you have proof to the contrary please share it.

So far China seems to be treading a fine line between not annoying their new Russian bitch and not annoying the rest of the world too much.

That line is very, very thin and soon China will be the next target of US & Pals. When this will happen, they might regret not helping Russia. Not because Russia will remember and refuse to help, but because Russia will cease to exist and China will have to face the danger alone.

To hurt Russia is the only thing that really matters right now. Even the Afghan talibans, if they enrol against Russia all their sins will be pardoned.

Anyway, Microsoft is not worried. When US will turn its "attention" to China, they will soon receive the Uighur Republic peace prize so they will still have something to decorate their corporate walls.
