back to article Quad nations pledge deeper collaboration on infosec, data-sharing, and more

Leaders of the Quad alliance – Australia, India, Japan, and the USA – met on Tuesday and revealed initiatives to strengthen collaboration on emerging technologies and cybersecurity, with an unspoken subtext of neutralizing China. "Today, we – prime minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, prime minister Narendra Modi of India, …

Typical. The USA gets to tell everybody else how to do their job, then sits back and watches the minions scurry.

Why am I not surprised ?

Quite how Japan thinks it has any moral right to 'neutralise China' is beyond me. It had a filthy and criminal history in China, and should hang its head in shame for ever more. Instead it celebrates its war criminals.

But then, China "had a filthy and criminal history in" Japan, as you so quaintly put it (and let us lofty Anglo-Saxons not forget our own track records against African, American and Australian native nations).

Very laudable if they can each neutralise the other's cyber threat.

Don't forget their treatment of the Celts and Romano-Britons.

Me, I think us Homo Sapiens owe the Neanderthals some reparations.

Now that Russia has shown quite how poor USSR era military tech is, India is going to need to buy some upgrades. Especially if it needs to defend itself against Pakistan with all it's more modern toys.

Selling F35s to both sides is almost worth starting a little border war for

E2EE........the private kind...PRIVATE security standards....not the backdoored kind!

Quote: "...the United State in charge of software security standards..."

I'm really curious about "software security standards"....particularly in the light of the Snowden mention that all Cisco equipment has backdoors approved in Fort Meade.

In the mean time some of us are working on peer-to-peer encryption, so that the snoops in Fort Meade (or Cheltenham) get to decrypt messages (you know...approved backdoors)...and all they find is more encryption.

So...they work on the encrypted message (example attached) ...is it Blowfish....maybe AES....maybe chacha....maybe multiple encryption passes....????

...and.....if it happens to be multiple encrytion passes....how would the snoops know that any of their decryption guesses used the correct (guessed) key? ....since each time, all they found was...more encryption!!

Ha!....maybe private encryption...can make the folk in Fort Meade (or Cheltenham) a bit less superior than they thought!!

On the COIN* Flip Side are the Views not Distorted Virtual Realities. Que Sera, Sera v2.0

If you imagine that it is systems which driver/run and present everything for anybody, and in that context I do mean everything, it is not secret information hidden and traded behind myriad levels of obscuring encryption that one and they, the systems, need to fear and/or be really concerned about, for such only delivers advanced sensitive disruptive knowledge to increasingly smaller pools of relatively anonymous reagents trapped in silent chaotic worlds afraid of emergent free secrets and of ancient captivated secrets escaping/leaking, it is both the arrival and rapidly expanding number of targeted and random appearances of novel and noble enlightening tales which are not maliciously formed disinformation for fake news paddlers to trail and champion which be responsible and accountable for greater than was ever before thought possible change.

And whenever that intelligence leak becomes increasingly more widely known as a certified absolute truth in the general public populations of a globalised universal audience, will the withholding of secrets be recognised as the action of a practically catastrophically vulnerable to the sharing of truth enemy with a desperate continual need to spin tissues of lies fabricating an impossible defence against an already long ago well established and stable almightily overwhelming existential threat/treat.

Such does not end at all well for them. Many, and all most worthy of the fate, are destined to no longer prosper nor survive the just ravages of sweet flash and/or fast cash crashing ruin. What will be, will be. It is entirely natural.
