Isn't that to be expected ???

is, surely, the expected outcome of giving spectrum to the highest bidder, rather than to the bidder which can demonstrate the capability of employing it in a manner that represents best value to the end user ?

OFCOM has got exactly what it wants -- the most money from the highest bidder. It's only upset because the result is to demonstrate that the highest bidder invariably is also the least beneficial to the potential end user.

Are you crazy? Millions upon millions who bought WAP-enabled phones and routinely engage in video calls are clamouring for it! You speak as though TV audiences overall are in decline and mobile TV is merely an expensive way to deliver more of what people already have more than enough of in a very inconvenient format.

British Satellite Broadcasting- the UK government's official pick for satellite TV services in Britain? The first thing they did, the very first thing, was build themselves an impressive new office building. Then they started looking at innovative new technology for reception dishes, which in the end didn't work very well, and launched their own satellites. By the time they had a service up, SKY had stolen all their customers, operating out of a bunch of prefabs in an industrial estate and using standard satellite dishes and rented transponders on European owned satellites already in operation.

After they had comprehensibly failed, BSB was bought up by SKY, heaven knows why (maybe to get the UK government certificate). It didn't cost much anyway. SKY has now adopted the initials.

Do people care about TV resolution? If so, why watch on a phone? If not, what's the point of HDTV?

Do people care about monitor resolution? If so, how can web pages compete on a phone? If not, why was WAP so successful (ha!)
