A black oblong of purest bork glares balefully over shoppers in Plymouth, southwest England. An echo from an alternative future or just big-screen borkage? Plymouth Bork It may be more than 20 years since the events of Arthur C Clarke's 2001 were supposed to have taken place, but the Moon remains a challenge for humans, let …

    I'm sorry...

I'm sorry, but I couldnt read this article without sub-consciously replacing the word Bork with Bjork. And having images of everyone's favourite Icelandic export swimming in my mind.

"A black oblong of purest Bjork glares balefully over shoppers..."

""My God! It's full of Bjork!"

"All operating systems are equal in the eyes of Bjork."

    I'll get my coat...

I honestly think you ought to calm down; take a stress pill and think things over.

First read that as fisk, causing an immediate association with lutefisk.

I've figured out the cause of the problem

I've just picked up a fault in the AE35 unit. It's going to go 100% failure in 72 hours

    Typical Windows...

....always crashing, should use Linux instead.

    Oh wait.

More likely "Typical SD Card" - Regardless of OS, too much writing to a pi's SD card will tend to kill them within a few short months. Things can (and should) be done to help mitigate this (no swap, ramdisk for logs etc) but the best solution I've found is to use "Tiny Core Linux" which is robust enough to allow a turn-it-off-and-back-on-again approach for applications like this.

Have a search for "PiCorePlayer" for an excellent project doing just that.

That's not a nice thing to call Plymothians. Although thinking back to my years at their Polytechnic you might have a point. I lived in Exeter at the time so a certain antipathy is to be expected. It's nothing that moving the border with Cornwall a few miles further east couldn't fix :)

Yeah, but what horrors would you find in Southampton?!

Still, could be worse. Could be Swindon...

    Brilliant, Richard

'My God! It's full of Bork!' and 'A black oblong of purest Bork glares balefully over shoppers...' - both made me laugh out loud.

    Thank you
