Just when many companies are short of staff in IT and possibly dealing with BREXIT and COVID... along comes Microsoft with this.

Don't they (Microsoft) ever think of the big picture rather than what is nice for them?

I guess that the problems the real world faces can't exist in Redmonds Universe.

How can you be so sure this is being done for security reasons?

and not for other undisclosed reasons. Because m$ says so? Where's the evidence?

A security patch can be applied without forcing a version upgrade without the loss of support if function. It bullshit. The sooner business wake up to this cloud bollocks the better. Hopefully this sort of behaviour will be the clouds undoing.

All cloud providers do this, It's not reasonable to maintain every version of everything. It's the price of not owning your own servers.

Yes but they don't give a stuff, it is the cloud, THEIR cloud.

People should have migrated since this has been EOL for some time so it it not entirely Microsoft's fault but they could have applied incentive and then pressure earlier to get people to do the work.

Ultimately this is one of the downside of using someone else's infrastructure, you cannot choose to continue running something that is eons old.

This goes to show, you load your data on someone else's computer you are playing by their rules.

With behaviour like this, the only benefit to cloud is for the hosting providers.

Maybe this security issue is related to the prodigious volumes of spam emanating from Azure recently. If this change stops it I, for one, will be very pleased.
