An article about 5G without mentioning Coronavirus? Are you mad? Or are you part of the conspiracy too?

One has to add that it's only the masts that creates the virus, the satellites are simply too far away to be dangerous.

    OneWeb

"Both SpaceX and OneWeb (in which the UK government has plans to invest a cool half billion ^^^ under the mistaken impression it's a GPS system^^^) plan constellations which will enable greater 5G coverage."

Government must stop spaffing billions as the result of a chat over drinks with a chum.

For those of us on the wrong side of the pond...

What's the "DPD" mentioned in the title? It doesn't seem to be defined in the article and I didn't see anything that could be abbreviated down to it.

    Meh

Difficult to think of anything constructive to do with 5G that cannot be done equally as well with 4G[1], albeit slightly less quickly.

Killer here is that, given current coverage, whatever it is might actually work fairly reliably on 4G...

[1] Ok, apart from running a High Frequency Trading system or a media streaming service from a fleet of trucks then.

Seems a bit back to front

I may have misinterpreted but it sounds like they are saying, we have this wizzy new 5G thingy, does anyone have any idea what we can use it for?

    New?

What's wrong with faster cat videos and porn? What's old is new again.
