    Why taken so long??

I suppose the question is why has this taken so long in Indonesia. By comparison ... of the above entities - plus Microsoft - have to pay pay VAT in the EU on this sort of stuff..... yes... we know they push the boundaries on corporation tax etc.

    From Amazon.co.uk for example

“ About VAT on Digital Products & Services

VAT is charged on digital products and services sold by Amazon.co.uk within the European Union (EU).

This includes but is not limited to the following:

    Kindle Books

    Kindle Newsstand

    Appstore for Android

Digital Games and Software (including prepaid cards)

    MP3

    Prime Video

    Cloud Player

    Cloud Drive

    Kindle Opt Out Charges

    Kindle Unlimited

Amazon.co.uk is obliged, in accordance with applicable law, to charge VAT on sales of digital products and services to customers in the EU. The VAT rate applied to these products and services will be based on the location of the customer. This is applicable to purchases made only on, or after, 1 January 2015.”
