"vpnMentor suspects the nine services share a common developer"

Well the alternative is that there are nine idiots who couldn't be arsed to do their job correctly.

So yeah, let's go with the one. It's enough damage as is.

There are plenty more idiots who have, are, and will continue to produce leaky buckets.

If "data breach" and "AWS" then "leaky buckets"

A dry season for government contracts

    1) Insecure bucket

    2) Credentials left in said insecure bucket

    3) Sensitive user data left exposed.

It can only be Capita - desperate times call for desperate measures. Oh and FYI Mr Lewis herpes is not a starsign.

    Herpes Dating was also revealed

Well, that's just being socially responsible by keeping communicable diseases contained within the affected community.

Yeah, some people catch herpes by being kissed by their mother while still an infant, and can go through life struggling to find someone that doesn't mind the risk of cold sores (or worse).

I can easily see the attraction to them of a site that lets them find someone entirely unafraid to kiss them.

Plenty of blackmail fodder there I'm sure. And no doubt once word of this gets out more, you won't even need to have had data stolen to be blackmailed. The blackmailers just have to pretend they have something. They already do it and now it's just that bit easier to believe.

The world is a sick, sick place.

I don't think the world is sick. Most people are pretty decent.

Too decent, unfortunately, to realise just how evil is the evil minority.

They were all catfishes anyhow, and end up emailing each other with scams and even more phishing!

Data exposed included photos, many of a graphic, sexual nature; private chats and details of financial transactions; audio recordings; and limited personally identifiable information, the biz stated, adding that it thinks it found sufficient data to blackmail people."

It sounds almost like they're about to start a new business model

Can we say blackmail these days?

So... master and slave tech designations are being "updated" to something more generic. Just wondering what the word blackmail will get updated to?

      Coerce?

Re: Can we say blackmail these days?

Blackmail is a specific form of coercion or extortion. There's literally no other word to describe blackmail as unlike "master" and "slave" it's not an analogy, it's definitive name.
