Perhaps they should develop an AI system that will decide what government information to publish . After all, if they're just going to carry on using AI systems to judge people on things such as likelihood of being a criminal, or reoffender or benefit cheat, not caring about all the negative consequences for the people that are wrongly accused, then if the government is harmed because the AI decides to release something they want to keep covered up it's just the same tough luck.

I second that proposal, SVV. Let's give AI a trial as judge and jury deciding on future human interreaction with full provision of practical instruction to render maximum benefit from the quantum leap switch to a most able AI System of Universal Operation.

GIGO still matters

No system is perfect. Show me the error-free caring, sharing, sensitive, and responsive manual system and there's a conversation to be had. Note: I even left out "cost-effective"

It's probably easier to bury the mistakes in the system that I describe above. The audit trail in an AI system, not so much. Since whenever, c.f., MYCIN and Eliza, "professionals" have contained about AI. AI shouldn't get a free pass but Luddites shouldn't get a free ride.

Maybe, AC, although that being akin to kicking a can of worms and a Pandoran Box further on down the road is too much of a desperate ineffectual dither to be considered as anything else of note other than there be no better a time to realise and release information and sensitive intelligence to the private and pirating foreign sectors too for allowance of the possibility, and therefore most likely probability of their embrace and engagement/novel quantum communications leap field lead.

And of course, one can always rely on an imperious military and wannabe imperial dictatorships [although not necessarily an imperious military and wannabe imperial dictatorships from everywhere and an enclave like the UKGBNI] to want to be ahead of the Great IntelAIgent Game and in Absolute Charge of Command and Control of Future Alien Weaponry ....... White House to weaponize AI and spend money to poach top talent

Furthermore, as we all know, in a capitalist economy and fiat money system, top talent isn't cheap and is surely intelligently designed to be extremely expensive when also mind numbingly effective and stealthily overwhelming. It appears to be the way that particular and peculiar system likes to work in order to generate future profits for lavish spending and saving. Whether that be a blessing or a curse is one of those questions dodgy systems try to avoid asking and answering.

There is nothing intelligent about it.

It is just statistical analysis on a set of training data, or, the training data is part of the source code, and the "AI" thing is basically a compiler/interpreter that converts it into a load of if statements.

Like anything to do with computers, there are use cases for it, and it can be useful in some situations. Just don't call it "intelligence", and if your programming takes the form of feeding the computer with a load of random data, it may not always give you the correct answer.
