back to article IBM Cloud TITSUP: Techies investigate troubling storage underperformance

Storage systems in several of IBM's European data centres have been down since the small hours, with engineers battling to fix an unspecified "network-related" problem they identified six hours after the outage began. The IBM Cloud Storage wobble struck this morning at 0525 UTC, a disgruntled customer told El Reg, adding that …

A tear in the network fabric architecture?

'Storage systems in several of IBM's European data centres have been down since the small hours, with engineers battling to fix an unspecified "network-related" problem'

Would these network-related problems be in the underlying software defined routers, switches and storage such that there's a tear in the cloud fabric?

"...client operations are back to normal."

    As bad as that eh?

Maybe NetApp can use their "Analytics"

to identify the problem since they are the storage behind Softlayer. or Maybe IBM can use Watson...to investigate.

    Good luck with that!

    Maybe

Maybe Idiot Brainless Morons should have kept a few grey hairs around like those who might know a thing or two or three.

To have been so good with big iron and have trouble with this....although there are doubtlessly a layer or two of added obscurity between a mainframe and "the cloud". Still, as stated above, keeping a few grey beards around would be wise.

1998 - You don't get fired for buying IBM.

2018 - You don't have to justify avoiding IBM like the plague.

    FAIL

IBM, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing..

The same problem in AMS01, AMS03, FRA02, FRA04 and MIL01. Which looks like different availability zones (or whatever IBM calls it) and regions. So it is impossible to build a highly available system with IBM cloud.

Who are their main customers, hobbyists?
