Stupid patsy questions
“We are under cyber attack”
Quick, frighten the electorate!
“Who is behind it and how do we stop it?”
Name a boogey man that can be an enemy, also pretend there is a simple answer!
United States presidential candidate Donald Trump has questioned whether the Democratic National Committee was hacked by Russia, advancing theories that China or “someone sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds” may have pulled off the hack that saw numerous campaign documents leaked to the world. Trump made the remarks …
Clearly no-one told either of them that using the word "cyber" makes you look like an instant twat to anyone who knows anything about IT.
Still a pair of utterly repugnant individuals that I wouldn't cross the street to piss on if they were on fire. The corrupt kleptocrat and the flatulent fraud - what a set of choices America.
Or you could have your left leg smashed to smithereens by a bloke who couldn't be bothered to look properly before pulling out of a side turning, which makes walking from the house to the bus stop a major challenge, and exercise (which I used to enjoy) a complete thing of the past. Funnily enough although I still eat sensibly I tend to drink rather more than I used to, because it dulls the constant pain, and I now weigh more than 20 stone, double what I weighed before the numpty smashed me off my bike 10 years ago.
Don't judge anyone until you know their story. Sure, there are plenty of fat people out there who could do something about their weight, but there are plenty more who can't, for a number of reasons.
Right I'll risk the backlash.
I'm sorry you were involved in an accident and are subject to to pain but have to question a couple of points.
Assuming for a moment that being heavy is seen as a problem:
Rather than "eat sensibly" to stay static, tailor calorific input to output, that may be more onerous than was "sensible" before and includes alcohol which is very high in calories.
If the drinking is really for pain control then have you exhausted all other pain control methods?
Have you ever considered that you might be experiencing symptoms of depression not just the physical pain? If the accident has taken the wind out of your sails the diet is probably a secondary issue and someone could feel trapped because other options look hopeless.
In the faceless nameless pit which is the internet I really do wish you well, oh and happy too.
"which makes walking from the house to the bus stop a major challenge, and exercise (which I used to enjoy) a complete thing of the past."
Its a shame about your accident, but there are plenty of fit people going around in wheelchairs, never mind with a dodgy leg. Did you not notice the paralympics?
" I tend to drink rather more than I used to, because it dulls the constant pain, and I now weigh more than 20 stone, double what I weighed"
If the drinking alone has doubled your weight then I would suggest you have a serious drinking problem and should probably seek help because it sounds to me you're on the fast track to being a wooden box.
It's always the skinny people who have all the answers to the "fat" problem - obesity does not seem to be a simple heath issue, it may have many causes and we probably have a firm handle medically on about a quarter of them.
Remember the days when ulcers were cause by people failing to handle stress? Nowadays we treat that with antibiotics. Just try to have a little sympathy and realize that no matter who smart we feel when we wake up in the morning, it's just an opinion - and Trump's opinion is wrong.
"obesity does not seem to be a simple heath issue, it may have many causes and we probably have a firm handle medically on about a quarter of them."
There may be a number of issues that make some people more or less prone to getting fat. But ultimately its down to calories in, calories out and willpower. You don't find any fat people in a famine.
The obvious way for Trump to legally pay no taxes is to qualify as a real estate professional. One of the requirements is that Trump would have to spend more time on real estate related work than on other tasks like candidate for Republican presidential nominee, or presidential candidate. Trump has spent plenty of time fund raising for his presidential bid. Sufficient that if he dropped out now and spent the rest of the year working real estate he would still not qualify for most of the tax concessions available to real estate professionals. For Trump, that is about $400M.
The US banks have been burned by Trump bankruptcies, and will not lend him money. Deutsche Bank are worried about getting back what he currently owes them, so they will not advance him more. There are $300M of loans to Trump unaccounted for. My bet I is on the European Russian Bank. Trump wont get his extra $400M from the ERB as their owners, the First Czech-Russian Bank, recently had their license revoked by the Russians because they had no assets.
If Trump is really interested in emails, he should go after the 22 million emails that were deleted from the Bush administration's servers when Congress tried to subpoena evidence about the reasons for Iraq War Version 2.
"Trump later argued that he will release more tax records when Clinton releases the 33,000 emails deleted from her private server."
Shouldn't he be releasing his tax returns the same way every presidential candidate has for the last 100 years? Why is he trying to make it contingent on something that's probably never going to happen?
Apparently he is under legal advice not to release his tax returns whilst undergoing an IRS audit (which he claims has been the case every year for the last 15, which seems a bit focused to me).
Whilst the IRS have said that there is no rule that says he can't release his tax returns whilst being audited, I reckon Trump is using this as a way to highlight the fact he has been audited every year for the last 15 years.
Considering the number of bankruptcies he's filed, I can't say I blame them.
I did laugh when he said 'that's all you've done' when Hilary mentioned she had written a book though :)
Has any American president or serious candidate written his own book or books since Woodrow Wilson? I would be surprised to learn that Clinton wrote all of her books by herself (though curiously enough Powell's Books credits one to "Hillary Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton). I would not be surprised to learn that Donald Trump has not read all the way through the various books published under his name.
There could be an explanation for the focus.
When Trump University (The one Trump said got an A from the Better Business Bureau.) was attracting investigations by district attorneys in several states, Pam Bondi received $25,000 from the Trump Foundation.
Clearly the IRS will not settle for a one-off bribe.

"Didn't an ex-CIA guy say only the other day that the US had effectively estoppeled themselves against doing anything about Russian electronic spying because they do so much themselves?"
I think you should be careful about using terms that you don't understand. Estoppel is a legal principle that prevents one party for making allegations about another party on the basis of the first party's previous conduct. Hence the CIA comment seems to be saying that the US may not be high and mighty about Russia's hacking because the US does the same thing. This is true.
It does not mean that the US cannot do anything about Russian electronic spying as you allege. They can take every measure they see fit to stop the Russians spying.
If a party is subject to estoppel then they have been estopped, not estoppeled.

Every time Trump opens his mouth he reinforces his stupidity and ignorance, and still morons think he's golden. He undoubtedly despises the little people, and it's a great shame that they can't see it.
He's clearly too unbelievably vain to contemplate "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and confirm it".
"Every time Trump opens his mouth he reinforces his stupidity and ignorance, and still morons think he's golden."
After that train crash of a "debate" where Trump managed to make himself look more of an idiot that usual I thought that there was a chance that Trump supporters might have had a moment of insight. No, first interview of the day Trump supporters queuing up to say what a great debater he is and how his performance proved he was presidential material. I wouldn't let his supporters choose wallpaper.
Politics is no longer about doing the right thing, its about organising a team which can win the election game.
Right or wrong, smart or stupid doesn't matter - its about who can run the most efficient party machine. Forget what's right or even workable, can I get a "Hoo-rah!"?
We have generations raised on emotion-based theatrical entertainment and we've had years of government, increasingly not in the public interest - there is little correlation between who is voted for and people's livelihoods. After years of seeing public officials lie and play out stupid games and special interest groups pushing esoteric agendas to the forefront of policy, politics is just another absurd sitcom - Ally McBeal, 24, That 70's show and 2.5 Men all rolled together.
Hillary has inherited and improved Narwhal. Narwhal crushed ORCA. Trump has not inherited ORCA. He does have some people working on new get-out-the-vote software, but he does not consider it that important, has given it minimal funding, and people with a clue are not lining up to work on it because they do not want to be associated with the inevitable spectacular failure.
When it comes to absurd sitcoms, Trump has the most experience, with the apprentice and world wrestling entertainment. There aren't enough ignorant old white men to elect Trump. His second rate election team have been fired, and third raters only join his campaign if it will be their last before retirement. Clinton has a skilled and experience campaign team of about 1500 paid staff plus lots of volunteers. Trump's team (about 500 remain) thinks that Scotland, Mexico and Israel are battleground states.
I don't have a better system, that's why I feel we're trapped. Education would help but then comes the question of who's best qualified to decide what sort of education is needed. The question seems cultural but is overshadowed by big financial interests/companies as well. I guess I got thumbs down because I'm not clear in what I mean, not because it's wrong.
Also in this system we live in, uneducated people people do need a vote because otherwise the exploitation by the rich would be far worse. That's how the rich undermine their own system, That's why a balance between right and left is needed.
