Helion is basically just Americas. Cloud28+ is an EU offering.

It was just a typo. He actually said "Sun's net". HP is admitting that all the potential customers laughed at them and chose Oracle, instead. I'm surprised they didn't go to Dell or IBM, or straight to Amazon's cloud without the intermediate step.

It means that if you were relying on them for your data storage needs you're going to lose all your data if you don't find someone else to store it, and go through the hassle of copying it all over to your new provider - which if it is GBs or TBs worth, is going to take some time and cost quite a bit of bandwidth.

Which is one major reason why my company doesn't use cloud services, and never will, no matter how much the snake-oil salesmen push it on us.

I wonder how this will affect HP's commitment to Open Stack. Their Virtual Private Cloud offering was supposed to move to Open Stack but they still haven't and the most recent upgrades to VPC is still VMware based.

HP has outsourced so much work and skills they can't even RE-PACKAGE A LINUX DISTRO and ADD OPENSTACK TO IT to deploy to Intel servers built by FoxConn in China
