    Given our local Dell sales team can't figure out the difference between software and hardware raid I have a feeling this ask-don't tell process may backfire badly.

    Dell resellers.

    Anyone know how a small company can compare Dell resellers. Seems like when one has a deal registration others can't quote sensible prices. Seams like Dell don't want to sell there normal kit.

    2 controllers with four ports of 6GB SAS - that's four dual connected systems without a fibre switch, enough for quite a few use cases at a pretty reasonable price ...

    the 60 drive 3460 is probably a re-badge'd Xyratex which in turn is likely to be sold by the parent ODM as a DataDirect, Data-ON or any number of others.

      No the powervault MD line is OEM'd from Enenio which LSI sold off to NetApp a couple of years ago. NetApp is milking the product line without putting much in to it in the way of actually updating it. It is pretty solid and reliable and performs well but has not had any feature enhancements so is a bit basic but it gets the job done.
