Soloway, 28, from Seattle, has previously been found guilty of sending spam in several civil cases, most notably when Microsoft won a $7.8m judgement against him back in 2005. But he's always …

    Shame

Take the clothes off him, and the sunglasses, and put him in prison stark naked. That'll teach him a lesson.

    What a shame...

    ...but never mind.

WRT his assets, isn't it funny how fraudsters never seem to have any property? Where's the house, the car, the yacht? You'd think there would be a computer in there, at least....

    It would be nice

If they made him pay for his upkeep in prison. Charge him say $50 for breakfast, another $50 for lunch, and $100 for dinner. And $300 a night for a bed. $30 for a shower, and $20 for clean clothes. I wonder how long he would 'not have any assets'...

And I hope they feed the <CENSORED> Spam (tm) every meal for the 26 years :-) Let the punishment fit the crime...

    Dropped the charges?

Aggravated identity theft? And they let him off that one?

Shit, 26 years and no parole still isn't enough. How long before he's let out in mistake for someone guilty of personal-use scale possession?

    King of spam

That would be like "Al-Qaeda's number 3 man" then.

What the hell does anyone need 24 pairs of sunglasses for? Last time I checked this solar system only had one sun.

Ah. But perhaps Robert Soloway has 24 pairs of eyes. The lizard army gets everywhere.

BTW: I always call it 'king spam.

Let's hope they put him in with a bunch of prisoners who have been responding to his viagra adverts.

    27 pairs of shoes

Is this Robert Soloway or Roberta Soloway?

Strange how owning lots of shoes and committing fraud seem to go hand-in-hand (or foot-in-hand). Think Imelda Marcos.

    not quite

you made the comment about letting the punishment fit the crime by feeding him shitty tinned spam... he isn't going down for spam, he's going down for things like tax evasion which was simply a by product of his spam.

    re: dropped the charges

They might not have enough hard evidence to be sure they'd convict him of everything. Better to have him plead guilty to some charges than risk not getting anything in a trial. "Beyond a reasonable doubt" is a pain in the ass sometimes.

    nice thing about american law

Once he gets out of jail and they can prove that is spending the money which he claimed not to have, he can go back to jail for money laundry. Now if they cant prove the money laundry they can do some thing much more nastier. If makes alot of big purchase , the Gov can say prove the money you use is legit or we will take it. Oh by the way in that situation they get to keep the items till you can prove such Under an upheld theory th at the money it self has committed a crime. Since money is not a person it does not have any real rights

    Joke

    In a perfect world...

...spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

    I'll get my coat...
