You want to know if the bride is hot? Of course you do.

    There, fixed that for you:)

Too true, but after clicking the link...the dress was ok.

You think so? The skirt looks like it's made out of bleached wookie.

I cannot tell you how pleased I was to click on the link and find that a wealthy 47 year old businessman who has been married twice already WASN'T marrying a 23 year old model/actor/nothing. Furthermore, she isn't some fluffed and puffed 40 year old eternal child.

I don't much care about either of them, but I'm always happy when stereotypes are challenged.

Nothing can make a wedding nicer than...

... when a war criminal turns up.

And I didn't say who I am referring to, so you have no right to censor my comment.

It's like that celebration scene in Star Wars ROTJ where at the end Evil Guy turns up in Ghost Form.

Only here, he hasn't repented yet. And he's for real.

I'm expecting downvotes by the Independent's John Rentoul....

While playing the bagpipes is widely regarded as a crime against humanity I think war criminal is a bit strong.

I reckon the groom could carry on a discussion with a couple of the guests on "Internet Research" and "Dodgy Dossiers" for at least 45 minutes.

btw, "September/Dodgy Dossier" - published 24th September 2002. Ten years, 2 weeks ago.

And I'm not saying the WC brought his wife, but I've lost all respect for Mr Wales, which I know will wound him deeply.

Why not? If it's good enough for Tutu it's good enough for you-you, and certainly good enough for El Reg.

I would cheerfully donate to a fund for charging Tony Blair with War Crimes. There's no politician I more despise, and that's despite the normal tendency of people to despise most whoever is currently in power.

This is how I feel. There was a campaign to impeach him but he's been out of office too long for that. That this man could be an envoy for peace reminds me of the sheer hypocrisy of a certain deceased DJ depicted as a font of respectability and do gooding, recently publicised. It was a lie, in front of camera, day in and day out.

Like you I want him prosecuted.

    WTF?

    Where am I?

    Is it just me

Or did the bride have a deer-in-the-headlights look in her eyes?

Sort of "All I remember was being passed this glass of wine at Davos and..."

Seriously I'm sure the couple will be very happy together, look wonderful, very well matched etc etc.

BTW "Diary Secretary" in political office carries a lot of weight.

Martin Boorman was Hitler's for example.

      Re: Is it just me

"Martin Boorman was Hitler's for example."

That explanation should really be part of Kate Garvey's Wikipedia entry. A la "Kate Garvey was Tony Blair's diary secretary, just like Martin Boorman was Hitler's."

      But I bet it wont.

I guess the bagpipes count as weapons of mass distraction?

Did they get 45 minutes' warning to clear the area? ;)

Plus, I do hope it wasn't funded by donations and hangdog-looking "gimme yer dough" mugshots of Big Jim :P

    Campbell

Before purveying fiction for the government, he was an author of soft-core porn including the immortal 'Busking with Bagpipes', which includes such immortal lines as:

'a little known aphrodisiac - the dangling pipes of Scotland...It's all tongues and teeth, lips and gentle squeezes... As I lie on a Lisbon hotel bed next to a Portuguese person crying out for more, I thank my pipes for doing most of the chatting up.'

A crime against good writing surely, but much less damaging than his subsequent career.
