Land grab

And so it begins. Before Facebook have even completed their IPO the company are turning around and looking for ways to actually generate an income to justify their insane valuation.

This is the start of a land grab though today it's an app centre then tomorrow they've forked Android to create a facebook mobile OS then the day after you can only post on sites if you log in using your Facebook account credentials and then suddenly before you know it you are locked in because they've got you by the balls

Why stop there?

First something simple...

"Sorry this petrol station doesn't support unregistered cars without owner's Facebook credentials."

Next something very inconvenient...

"Sorry this bank's ATM cannot be used without Facebook credentials."

Finally something altogether nasty...

... and 95bn is quite a valuation. In 'rough' terms people usually look at a valuation of around 10x earnings - Facebook are somewhat higher!! But then again so are Amazon - makes Apple shares look cheap.

Who needs a passport or a driving license when all your credentials will be on the facebook profile for whoever to see?

The sooner Greece default on their austerity measures and leave the Euro currency to join Facebook Credits the better

i cant see apple being happy either way. Could get interesting! Will fb be the next flash and iDrones get told its a toxic poisonous scam app which Apple wont allow for the protection of its users?
