back to article Trump decrees era of 'Super Intelligence' upon us

According to the US President, the term Artificial Intelligence (AI) is tired while "Super Intelligence" is wired. Trump has issued an executive order to compel the Federal Government to use the new name instead. The term Artificial Intelligence was introduced by American computer and cognitive scientist John McCarthy in 1956, …

Then there is real life testing in zoo's, which indicate that the end product will be an infinite amount of typewriters all clogged up in monkey shit. -From which it can be concluded that monkeys are not good random number generators.

Surely we're no longer distracting from the Epstein Files. That's long forgotten. Or at least, now only vaguely remembered.

Now we're on to distracting from the disastrous war with the Iran - started with no plan and early - while the Pentagon were still moving their troops into place - they hadn't even flown in all the air defence kit for their regional bases yet. That war may-or-may-not have been started to distract from Epstein Island - but now it's the bad news story that people need to not be thinking about.

Although I've seen suggestions that in recent days/weeks the US have got their shit a bit more together, and lots of shipping is now managing to get escorted through the Straits, but I've not seen enough confirmation of that yet. Would be ironic if it's the first good news in a while and Trump hasn't loudly claimed credit for it - but then we're already on about his fifth victory and brilliantly negotiated end to the conflict - so give him time.

You may be right, but I suspect that your average American doesn't really care about the Iran war per se, at least when it's calmed to a semi-stalemate and no longer the first item on the news.

What he's actually trying to distract from is- I suspect- the results of that for your average, insular American, i.e. the cost of living crisis the Iran war has made far worse for them.

Because the one thing- about the only thing- that *will* make them care is when the cost of filling up one of their oversized "gas guzzlers" skyrockets and hits *them* in the pocket.

And in related news story: https://nationalpost.com/news/world/trump-posts-super-intelligence-document-with-u-s-spelled-as-unites-states

U.S. President Donald Trump shared an official document on Truth Social on Monday, and people have noticed a glaring spelling error.

The document, which is signed by Trump along with leaders of major tech companies including Google, Meta and Anthropic, outlines recommended “layers of controls and audits” for the use of artificial intelligence, which Trump renamed “super intelligence” with an executive order on Tuesday.

Underneath Trump’s signature, the text reads: “President Donald J. Trump, President of the Unites States.”

Here's an even better one. US delegation to a conference on HIV/AIDS put up a slide about US programs in Africa. BBC linky - to a nice map with every single country in the wrong place! Top AI work - which I guess was then OK'ed by someone with absolutely no idea of geography. Although I don't know what the excuse is for having a country with no name and Cameroon not linked to any country...

One of the "successes" of the first Trump administration was to refuse to fill a bunch of positions in the State Department bureaucracy - so government was down a whole bunch of professional diplomats - which the Biden administration struggled to replace. Not that I'm exactly sure how hard they've tried - the excuse I've heard was that people were reluctant to come back because they expected to get sacked by Trump II, but who knows? Anyway State is now seriously lacking in expertise to advise a government that really needs all the help it can get. Not that it would listen anyway of course... But I guess, like DOGE, they're staffed with enthusiastic but stupid kids with access to AI and an urge to follow the Dear Leader.

"The question is why the sudden change?"

It's because Donald Trump is a pathological narcissist who views the "reality" of any situation purely in terms of his own opinion of it, whether or not that reflects actual reality, because he considers something to be right and important purely because it's his opinion and because this sense of importance extends to the countless short-term obsessions he has when he gets an idea in his head, at least until he forgets about it and moves onto the next one.

Or, as others have suggested, it's also highly plausible that this is yet more of the usual news-clogging distraction- specifically from the Epstein Files he's no longer so keen on releasing.

But, more importantly, it's because the people of the United States knew what sort of person he was- or had no excuse for pretending they didn't know- and saw fit to elect him for a *second* term regardless.

This is someone about as manifestly unfit to be president as one could have come up with, yet who over two thirds of eligible Americans either voted for or were indifferent enough about becoming their president to bother voting against.

    That's "why".

Although, to my (admittedly limited) understanding of the US system, that effectively also includes everyone who voted for any third party.

As in, had the candidates been running, over half the population could have voted "Monster Raving Loony Party (US)" and instead of getting an actual Monster Raving Loony government, as would happen over here, in the Mother of Parliaments (yes, yes, Iceland, I see you waving your hand, just go with it for the moment), they just got the one raving loony monster having a party in government.

"In effect" you may be technically correct, due to the fucked up duopoly of the US system. But to my mind there's still a gulf of difference between those who cared enough to vote for a third party candidate- people who at least deserve credit for registering a vote against Trump and trying to fix things through the ballot box- and those who sat at home and did nothing knowing there was a chance that Trump might win.

Given that ai.com went for $70M according to Wikipedia - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_domain_names - there's serious money to be made in this particular scam. Re: Sorry, but SI already taken

        > Wait until the orange grifter finds out the rest of the world uses a system of units called SI – and threatens to rename it, invade it, tax it, … the usual.

And discovers the acronym is French which ought to please the shit gibbon no end, given he and Macron get on so well./s

I was hoping someone might get the ear of the Scheißaffe and convince him to mandate the upgrade the shambles of US customary units to the "new" super·intelligence units. Petrol (gas) is cheaper per litre than per gallon — even US gallons (remember shambles. ;)

With Trump It's Always A Scam

Now we just have to figure out which of the Trump spawn owns the .si top level domain and we'll know how they're funneling money into Trump's pocket.

Behold, the Brain Fart of The Day has been Issued by Der Pumpkin Fuhrer!

How anyone can listen to such decrees and not realize this man has completely and utterly lost touch with reality and sanity is beyond me; this goes so far beyond rational thinking of any sort that it has to boggle the minds of people who actually can think for themselves that such a delusional whack-job holds any power in a global-impacting government...

    Yikes.

Wheel out the straight jacket and roll him off to a rubber room at the nearest old age care facility; I recommend Betty Ford.

Waiting for it to be exploited elsewhere

By complete coincidence (really), just after I read this article, I got an email from someone with an "@si.{big_it_company}.com" address. In his case it seems appropriate, as that's his real location. But I am going to be so unsurprised if {big_it_company} starts to appear to have a lot more employees in that domain.

Clearest proof of a lack of intelligence

Including SI and Trump in a single sentence.

The stupid felon couldn’t button his own shirt.
