Gee, an American Vulture Corporation known for profit-mongering is suffering the backlash from Der Pumpkin Fuhrer's ILLEGAL WAR and WAR CRIMES.
I feel so bad for them.
Honest! *LOL*
Amazon Web Services (AWS) says it is unable to restore access to resources and data in some of its Availability Zones in the Middle East after datacenters were damaged during the US war with Iran. In an update to its AWS Health Dashboard, the cloud giant confirmed that anything hosted exclusively in its Bahrain Region (me-south- …
Guess AWS should probably be ensuring that US-East-1 is secure. The IRG, FSB or any other rogue state actor could play havoc there with the global dependencies they seem wholly unable to remove from there.
It’s helpfully marked on Google Maps for anyone to see in Ashburn,VA … adjacent to the Gloucester Parkway. As are many others like Equinix ….
The USA is still butt hurt after 40 years that Iran kicked them out. While the USA gloats when celebrating its independence, it is does not like it when other countries do the same. The last Shah of Iran was a tyrant.
I wonder how silent America's poodles will be if it invades Canada. This is not an impossibility. It is not far-fetched.
This is not the "Iran war", this is America's war against Iran.

Do keep up, there are a couple French owned islands in Canadian waters and France is moving at least one nuclear armed sub there, purely routine of course. An attack on Canada would invoke Article 5, all US bases on non US NATO soil would be captured and the forces therein become POWs probably within hours. If you don't think NATO hasn't drawn up contingency plans for just that eventuality, you should visit the real world one day. I wouldn't be surprised if there are discreetly hidden SAM units within 40 miles of every US airbase in NATO.
Ignore NATO and just look at the countries that would be 100% behind Canada, there's the EU and the Commonwealth which between them represent over 4 billion people, half the population of the world. South America is hard to say, probably even split between support for Canada, the USA and neutrality. The Middle East apart from Israel will be neutral or behind Canada, Asia is tricky, I've no idea how they'd go, it would probably depend on China's reaction.
Though full credit where credit is due, Trump has united so many people, in Canada there is a unity never seen before, people on all sides of the political spectrum have come together to face a potentially existential threat. In the Middle East many formerly antagonistic groups have settled their differences to unite against the common enemy. In Ireland catholics and protestants marching together against the common foe.
It's odd really, America isn't doing anything it hasn't been doing ever since WWII, it just used to wrap it up in (almost) believable propaganda, subtlety and deft diplomacy and most countries felt it was less trouble to let America play their stupid little games. But Trump has killed all of that, the rest of the world has finally had enough of American exceptionalism.
The thing is they didn't have the internet. The media pushed the propaganda and buried the stuff it didn't want people to see. Like Americas use of Agent Orange in Vietnam, Invasions in South America and so on.
Don't get me wrong it was all documented but to see that documentation was difficult. You had word of mouth but that only goes so far (unless it's the removal of a rib by Marilyn Manson which somehow traversed the globe).
When the internet appeared and we got the early wikipedia then all these action came to a greater audience much like Israel's actions in the middle east. This has pissed them off no end to the point they want to get rid of wikipedia (protect the children) and replace internet search with a well curated AI. They already forced the sale of TikTok for the same reasons. The age of internet enlightenment is at an end. Everything those in power don't like will be classed as fake, AI generated or removed.
Be careful or you could be sent for re-education for thought crimes.
Oh man, if only it would be that easy to get rid of the orange clown. Covid almost got him though. Damn those government doc's. They are good. Certainly better than the cokehead running the org, who now wants to dispute the measles deaths in PA was measles. Could someone inject rfkjr with a shot of live measles.
Yes the world would have been much better off if Trump had caught covid at the same time Herman Cain did instead of two months later. They didn't have the therapies yet that reportedly saved Trump's life so we would have been rid of him, and he'd be remembered as a president who was only impeached once and never tried to overthrow the government.
I’m Canadian and like to stay up to date on military affairs.
Your brilliant scenario misses a key point: the rest of NATO is across the Atlantic and the US Navy can interdict the much weaker Euro navies. About the only real US assets at risk are US forces on Euro bases.
Militarily Canada would be SOL conventionally. Long term, there have been so few successful guerrilla wars for conventional armies that I’d not want to be a US planner for it. A small incursion a la Putin 2014 Ukraine could stiffen Canadian resolve and capabilities - I’d opt for the Finnish model of national defense for preps - if it was followed by a bigger one, years later like 2022 Ukraine but otherwise I can’t see us pulling a Ukraine.
An Afghanistan, a Vietnam? Quite possibly.
And who knows, Dementia Don might be deposed on pulling this move. Iran is extremely unpopular with Americans, yet the war on Iran is extremely unpopular. Go watch Fox news on YouTube: no commenters defending Trump on diesel prices. Not one. Canada on the other hand is well-liked by all but the hardcore MAGA and paid Russian troll posters.
I see it as very low probability but the very fact it is not zero is emblematic of how much of a turd Prez Bonespurs is.
US Navy can interdict the much weaker Euro navies
Believe the propaganda.
Meanwhile in the real world the US navy is too distributed to present a united force and in some fields they are way behind technologically - stealth subs for one, in a recent exercise a UK sub passed under a US carrier group without being detected. In a combat situation that's fatal for the carrier.
Also Ukraine with no navy has incapacitated Russia's mighty Black Sea fleet, sunk about 1/3 of it, disabled some more and has the remaining fleet confined to a base that's in missile & drone range.
Naval warfare has changed, big fleets can be a liability.- Sea drones that carry both a warhead and 3 or 4 FPV drones are already in use, around 10 of those in a coordinated attack could sink or disable any ship, no matter how well defended.
Remember what happened last time the USA attacked Canada, at least this time Trump has saved you the bother of demolishing the White House again.
Also currently the US military is buggered, Hegseth has the military nous of a concussed badger and has sacked all the competent Generals who were not blind MAGA nuts, he cancelled promotion of any non-white or female officers no matter how talented they were, he's stopped drone development because "it's not manly enough" and with him at the helm I wouldn't worry too much about the USA constructing a functional attack plan of any kind, let alone an escape plan. Iran has proven how incompetent the US military is under Hegseth.
You demonstrate just how effective propaganda can be with this rant. Trump doesn't have dementia, he's just being Trump and following pretty much the playbook in his 'Art of the Deal' book, which is a book about making bad deals. Americans have been conditioned to hate Iran because Israel's told them to. Iran's been only weeks away from going nuclear for decades now, yet hasn't completed a test. The last Ayatollah was fairly moderate and had issued a fatwa against setting up the bomb, but after some kinetic diplomacy is no more. So now replaced by a more hard line ruler, and rather than causing a regime change, Iran now hates America back, and has every incentive to now try to actually create a nuclear device.
Oops.
Then there's the antics around the Strait of Trump, previously known as Hormuz. That kinda worked to restrict oil supplies to China, but also Europe. Houthis piled on and after the Saudi pipeline got the Nord Stream treatment, it's restricting the supply of oil (and gas) to Europe, and winter is coming. And Trump's been trying to blame diesel price rises on Ukraine's bombing of Russian refineries.. Which is vaguely true, given it prompted Russia to restrict diesel exports. But the US/Israel v Iran thing caused oil prices to jump, which means Russia is making more profits from their oil still.
So probably not exactly working as intended, unless the intent was to cripple Europe, which it is doing. And I suspect some useful idiots in the EU are fine with this, because they hate fossil fuels. But there is some potentially good news. Like maybe Americans will look at diesel prices and go 'Why?'. The US is a large oil producing nation with a bunch of refineries. There was a little venture with Venezuela to kidnap their President and steal their oil.
So with increased supply, market forces would normally suggest that prices would go down, not up. But oil is allegedly a global commodity with a global price. Which isn't really true, ie the US doesn't import (much) from the Middle East, so why are US prices affected? Which is of course due to the way oil prices are rigged so it's another profitable game traders can play on the commodity casinos.. Which is a system that really needs to end, and if people wake up to this, might actually happen.. Or does happen, ie oil producing nations that have a domestic price that's 'subsidised', and exports fuel the casino system. Oddly enough, it's those countries that tend to end up in America's cross-hairs, because oil traders need more profits.
As for Canada, they're also an oil producing nation, but after a succession of loony Greens, they've been trying to shut that down rather than develop it and make money from their natural resources. Carney's also a tad Green, but the Canada-EU deal could get FUN! because the EU is desperate for oil & gas, and if Canada invests in that industry rather than defence, the EU might have a more reliable energy partner than the US.
I haven’t read Art of the Deal. Won’t.
What I have read are the Doha Accords (Afghanistan) and Iran war MOU. You wouldn’t trust either document to hold up if they were contracts to buy lemonade from a lemonade stand. They’re that bad. And short. And committing-US while not-committing-counterparty.
But fitting for a prez who sends his son in law and golfing buddy to sign “deals”. Witkoff did not have his own translators talking to Putin the first time. And he did not bother having nuclear experts talking to the Iranians.
Maybe Art of Bankruptcy would be better book?, although he’s well insulated from that happening again by his endless grift since taking office.
For Trump the only good deal is one where his side benefits and the other side loses, the concept of an agreement that benefits both parties equally is alien to his "thinking". This might work for company to company deals but countries are not the same as companies.
As for those casino bankruptcies, they were not due to incompetent running but deliberate choices so he could pay off unavoidable creditors at a few cents to the dollar. In every other country in the developed world this would be fraud and he would have found himself in prison or at the very least barred from running a company or holding public office.
America would decisively win the war with Canada. What would then follow is generations of happy fun times that would make 'The Troubles' look like a tea party.
Remember the worlds largest empire 'won' in Ireland in 1690, peace was declared in 1922 and soldiers from a Nuclear armed NATO member were still being killed in the 2010s
Aww, shucks, the Middle East data centers have been blown to bits. Guess we need to move our workloads to other areas around the globe. Hopefully CIA / NSA / MI6 / SIS / EIEIO won't be looking at our data too closely now that it is residing on their soil. I am sure they don't have any backdoors in to those data centers, right?
If they had just run their services in "the cloud", this wouldn't've happened. This is what I've been hearing from people about hosting for ages now. It has to be true! Could they still be repeating these things for more than a decade without it being true?
