What would be interesting to know is: How the attackers initially got in, whether ransomware was used, whether data was stolen, who was responsible.

Mine is made by Boston Scientific and connects via WiFi to a box at the side of my bed which sends data to the local hospital in Leicester.

It is of concern if third party actors could hack my pacemaker. The hospital routinely change settings on it via WiFi while at the hospital including temporarily turning it off to see how my heart responds - it didn't, no functioning pacemaker, no heartbeats at all, I'd be brain dead within minutes.

The first time, 16 years ago, I saw them reach out and touch the pacemaker my mind connected all the dots. But it does have it's uses...when I got it swapped out because the battery was going flat I wasn't happy with the new configuration they loaded on it. So I went back to the original group and had them dump their backup configuration onto it.
