Just a Coincidence

This week in the computer lab where I hold a class on numerical methods the teacher's desktop has suddenly stopped detecting the projector. Luckily, I network boot into Linux where everything still works fine. I'm expecting teaching technology services to replace the hardware rather than figure out what went wrong with Windows.

I expect his kit provider to suck their teeth and recommend a cable upgrade to support 10K video with solid gold connections and go-faster stripes. Seriously though detecting the far end video device does seem to be a bit hit and miss most of the time.
