The worry for the Democrats is that they win the November mid-term elections to Congress, but that Trump can claim there was so much fraud that he can annul the election results, or at least challenge them in court, denying the Democrats their majorities and ability to hold his administration to account. Trump has been looking for a way to 'win' the elections, and as his Iran war is going so badly, even for the USA (see the price of 'gasoline' at the pumps for citizens), he may need to override the democratic process. Coz lets face it, as soon as they can, the Democrats are going to impeach Trump on whatever charges they can think of.

Degrading all of the federal agencies which promote and protect fair elections is merely the precursor to claiming electoral fraud.

I foresee email from a convincing-sounding domain advising voters that polling stations will be open all week, and lines will be shorter if you vote on one of the later days. This is a standard GOP dirty trick, more potent for the data beaches revealing voters' data. [Aside: what do you think the Trump regime's plan for a national voter database is really about? And do you really think it would be adequately secured?]

The new twist is that the email will also have a link to an equally-convincing website where you can "vote by Internet", today even! It will all look very official and ballot-y and may even send you email acknowledging that your vote has been cast.

Remember, Trump's plan, if he can't cheat a win, is to at least throw the result into doubt, and thence chaos that "only I can fix".
